Applications

Measurement of steel plate edges after hot rolling

Overview of the Plan

With the improvement of automation level and user requirements in strip rolling, the requirements for detection level and process quality control in the production process are also increasing. In the steel rolling industry, the hot rolling process is the first rolling process in the entire steel rolling process. The quality of hot rolling, especially the uniformity of thickness, directly affects the rolling quality and process of cold rolling in the future. If the thickness of hot-rolled thick steel plates can be controlled within a certain thickness range, it can not only save raw materials, but also play an extremely important role in improving the quality and speed of the final cold-rolled products. Modern hot rolling production is developing towards larger scale and greater automation, which requires the ability to measure the thickness of hot-rolled steel plates in a non-contact manner and ultimately achieve closed-loop control (real-time acquisition of dynamic thickness changes and timely rolling adjustments). Due to the high temperature of hot-rolled steel plates, contact measurement technology used in the cold rolling industry is powerless. Therefore, advanced non-contact thickness measurement of hot-rolled steel plates is of great significance for production
